Clinic promotes Grass Valley native to top medical job
A Nevada Union High School graduate is the new chief medical officer of Western Sierra Medical Clinic.

Dr. Heather Lucas-Ross, the chief physician for the past year, now oversees all health and wellness-related operations for the clinic based in Grass Valley. She replaces interim Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robert “Simi” Lyss.
“As a long-time resident of the community, I am deeply committed to providing the best medical care possible,” said Lucas-Ross, who joined the clinic in September 2007.

Dr. Lucas-Ross of Grass Valley earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, and completed her Family Medicine residency at Sutter Health in Sacramento.

In the past year, Western Sierra Medical Clinic has added obstetrics-gynecology, an on-site pharmacy and an Urgent Care clinic. It also has a health center in Downieville. For more information, visit wsmcmed.org.
