Conflict resolution classes to be held
The Conflict Resolution Center of Nevada County will hold a three-day beginning mediation training session from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Oct. 20-22 at the Association of Realtors Building at Esterly Hall, 336 Crown Point Circle in Grass Valley.

The 25-hour course addresses problem-solving, balanced neutrality and fairness, and effective ways to settle differences and mediate disputes. The training also offers hands-on experience in a variety of simulations.

Participants who complete the course receive a certificate as a certified mediator.

The nonprofit CRC has worked with residents, businesses and organizations in Nevada County for more than 20 years. It mediates civil and small court claims as well as providing private mediation on a sliding scale fee.

Early bird registration is $295 and ends Sept. 1. Regular registration costs $325. Group discounts and limited scholarships are available and registration includes lunch and snacks.
