KVMR Community Radio is partnering with California Solar Electric Company, which will donate a free hot meal to a homeless person or person in need from Nevada City’s Divine Spark for each individual gift made to KVMR from Giving Tuesday on through the end of December.
“California Solar Electric Company is thrilled to be working with KVMR to give back to the community in support of Divine Spark,” said Kris Phillips, California Solar Electric Company office manager. “There are so many people in need in our community, especially this time of the year. This is an awesome cause and collaboration. We are happy to provide meals to the homeless and those in need in our community.”
“That’s called giving back to our community in a real way in return for your support of KVMR,” says Adriana Kelly, KVMR membership coordinator. “Your gift to KVMR not only helps us strengthen our service but also helps more of those in need.”
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday launches the charitable season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their communities and to give back in impactful ways to the nonprofits and causes they support.
Donate $120 or more to KVMR and receive the Limited Edition “Eating Radio: 2016: A KVMR Cookbook” - a collection of 150 recipes from station broadcasters, volunteers and staff.
Dawn Fischer, the cookbook editor says, “It’s full of cocktails, salads, desserts … you know, soup to nuts - literally.”
Giving Tuesday and end-of-year contributions can be made at kvmr.org, via phone at 265-9073 or sent to KVMR, 120 Bridge Street, Nevada City CA 95959.
