NID to spend $3.2 million for Cascade Shores project
The Nevada Irrigation District has awarded a $3.2 million contract for a water transmission line that connects the Cascade Shores subdivision with the Elizabeth L. George Water Treatment plant on Banner Mountain.

The contract was awarded to T&S Construction Co., Inc. which submitted the low quote among three submitted to the district. NID invited 11 contractors to submit quotes on the project.

NID Project Engineer Tonia Tabucchi Herrera said the work involves more than three miles of new transmission line that will allow NID to close a tiny and outdated treatment plant that now supplies Cascade Shores.

The work is part of an overall upgrade of the water system installed in the early 1970s by the Cascade Shores’ developer. NID has replaced pipelines in the community over the past five years.
